This was my horoscope for today…
“Seek cultural inspiration, through whatever form of art you can get your hands on. Sculpture, performance, photography or music could inspire some serious innovation. Reach out and let creativity embrace you.”
I would love to let my creativity embrace me, but the fact of the matter is I DON’T HAVE TIME! If I could do anything right now, I would love to be stringing my Christmas lights on my adorable Christmas tree, but instead, I am on the computer finishing last minute touches for the toughest quarter yet. I am trying not to lose faith, but I am stressed out and all I want to do is embrace my creativity and bake cookies, sing Christmas carols, and decorate my apartment with jolliness.
Maybe this will have to just wait until the end of the week…
Please come quick…

This was my horoscope for today…
“You’re in the mood for a little art or music or something similar, so track down your favorite cultural institution or find something new to enjoy. If you can find a way to bring family along, go for it! “
It is just so funny that my horoscope for today mentions music. I had the thrill of sitting in with my third graders on their music class this afternoon, and oh, it was the joy of my day! I was definitely in the mood for this and I think that my hectic and stressful week melted away with the sounds of their young, eager voices singing their tunes they were preparing for their Holiday Concert.
All I can say is that these kids are amazing and I learn more about each of them every day. There is one little boy in the class, in particular, that is quiet and often in his own world, but OH NO, not in music class. His voice boomed above the rest and to my surprise, it was wonderfully in tune! You could tell that he just began to shine when he sang. You could almost feel the joy in his little heart. Hearing all their voices in unison gave me shivers. I loved it.
So, my horoscope once again, connected to my life today. Somehow, someway, it hasn’t ceased to surprise me.

November 26, 2007 at 1:46 am (Apple Cup, horoscopes)
This was my horoscope today…
“Has an anxious go-getter taken possession of your body? You hardly feel like yourself today. If you find yourself getting mad about how long something is taking, take a breath and look out the window.”
Interestingly enough, this is completely fitting for how I feel right now. It is that time of the year when my time is not my own. I am overscheduled, overworked, overtired, over-caffeinated, yet at the same time, I enjoy it so much that I truly look forward to the busyness of the holidays.
As most know, yesterday was the much anticipated Apple Cup between the Huskies and the Cougars. This is a game that I look forward to and trash talk until the day the game actually arrives.
I awoke at 6am yesterday morning and threw on as much purple as I could to show off my Husky Pride. I got to the stadium around 9am, met up with friends, trash-talked a little more, played some games, and kick off. I didn’t go to the stadium with a ticket, but I was able to purchase one at the gate for $50. Not bad. The crowd was awesome and the cold weather didn’t phase any of the fans. People kept warm screaming at the top of their lungs, while some fans barked and other fans chanted cheers.
The game was a blast up until the last 30 seconds. The Cougs made that last touchdown to break the tie and take the lead. My heart sank and I looked around at the disappointment on all the faces of my fellow Huskies. Faces were solemn and even some had tears. This is not just a game, but it is also the right to brag for the next year and I do not get that right this year.
So needless to say, my horoscope was right on again. Apple Cup signifies the beginning of the crazy holiday season for me and from now until Christmas, my world is full of hustle and bustle. But I can’t complain. I LOVE this time of year and I couldn’t be happier. (well, except if my Dawgs had won).

October 3, 2007 at 8:39 pm (blog, technology)
This is the first time I have ever looked at blogs, ever thought about making a blog, and ever wrote my own blog. It has been a busy day!
This may be fun…
We will have to see where this new tech adventure may take me.
